The Toshiba story is an intriguing one, featuring innovation and surprise. It starts some 100 years ago, when Japan's reputation as a picturesque enigma was being broken open by a hunger for the industrial age. Electricity was the new wonder, and in 1899 Japan's first manufacturer of electric lighting equipment adopted the name Tokyo Electric Company.
Toshiba has successfully begun to spread to Europe, North America and the Middle East. 70-ies Toshiba has developed into a modern multinational company with a wide range of worldwide manufacturing.
